LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES of the Meeting held at The Church Hall, Main Road, Leverton on Monday, 23rd October 2017.

Present:-   Councillors:  Mrs J Moore, Mr N White, Mrs J Self,  Cllr P Bedford, Boston Borough Council, Cllr P Skinner, Lincolnshire County Council

Apologies:              Mrs J Self, Cllr F Ransome, Boston Borough Council

Prior to the meeting Mrs R Austin, Chairman of the Boston Marathon, gave a presentation to the council  detailing the proposed improvements for the event taking place on Sunday 15th April 2018.

1.0   OPEN FORUM

There were no members of the public present and no items for the open forum.

2.0   POLICE MATTERS

2 Concerns for safety – A52 and Sheepgate
1 suspicious circumstance – Main A52
1 vehicle offence - Outgate

3.0    APOLOGIES: 

Apologies received from Mrs J Self, Cllr F Ransome, Boston Borough Council.

4.0    DECLARATION OF INTEREST

There were no declarations of interest.

5.0    MINUTES

The minutes of the Meeting held on 23rd October 2017 were agreed as presented and signed by the Chairman as a true record of the meeting. 

6.0    Matters arising:

6.1    Application for Defibrillator 

There was nothing further to report regarding the defibrillator being provided by the Leverton firefighters. Mrs Moore confirmed that Mrs Welborn was still holding events to continue raising funds for a second machine.

6.2    Play Park

Mr Horwat stated that there were no issues at the present time regarding the play park. The issues regarding the bark chippings remained unresolved at the time of the meeting

6.3    Poor Condition of Parish Roads

Cllr P Skinner confirmed that it could be arranged for a highways engineer to accompany the Chairman on a tour of the parish to highlight any problem areas however, to report any new issues he confirmed that this was to be completed via the LCC Highways Portal online.

6.4    Leverton Toilet facilities.

Cllr Peter Bedford confirmed that there was no further progress on the development of the facility. Cllr P Skinner confirmed he would update the clerk if and when anything further was decided.

8.0   CORRESPONDENCE:

Planning application for change of use for The Smithy at Outgate – no observations recorded

9.0     ITEMS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PARISH

Mr Horwat requested littering signage for the container in the play park. 

Mr White and Mrs Moore stated that they had noticed that the layby was in total darkness in some areas and asked if enquiries could be made to ascertain who was responsible. The clerk agreed to look into this.

10.0   DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The date of the next meeting was agreed as Monday 20th November  2017 at The Church Hall, Main Road, Leverton commencing at 7.00pm. The date for the December meeting was also set as Monday 18th December 2017.
