MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN LEVERTON CHURCH HALL ON MONDAY 16 MARCH 2026

Cllr A Arundell – Lincolnshire County Council
Public Forum
There were two members of the public in attendance to address members of the Council about issues with speeding around the bends on the south entrance of the village and property damage as a result thereof. It was reported that there had been another accident with a tractor colliding into their neighbour’s property the previous evening. The property is owned by Cllr Woodward. Cllr Arundell took ownership of this and raised an email to Lincolnshire Highways department requesting investigations into the provision of a crash barrier being erected at the corner.
26/20 To Receive a Presentation of Fire Station statistics from Cllr A Arundell
Cllr Arundell confirmed that he had requested the statistics regarding the fire station but had not received them to date. He had been advised that this information was only available with a Freedom of Information Act request therefor, Cllr Arundell submitted the FOIA request and expected to receive the information in 28 days.
26/21 Apologies
Apologies were received from Cllr P Bedford.
26/22 To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011
There were no declarations of interest given.
26/23 To receive and approve the notes of the Council meetings held on Monday 16 February 2026
It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 16 February 2026 be approved as a record of the meeting and be signed by the Chairman.
26/24 Reports from Lincolnshire County Council/Boston Borough Council
Cllr A Arundell gave a verbal update regarding current affairs within Lincolnshire County Council.
26/25 Issues relating to the Playing Fields, Potholes and the Environment of the Parish
Playing Fields
Cllr Horwat stated that there was nothing to report.
Potholes
Cllr Self-Shutts and Cllr White stated that there were huge potholes in the area of the turkey farm which had been reported on FixMyStreet ref: 2881231 and 2882119. Lincolnshire CC Highways department were currently investigating these.
Environment
The clerk confirmed that she had spoken with Mr Pinner who confirmed the complainant had contacted him regarding the litter in the dyke adjacent to the layby and the matter was in hand.
26/26 Provision of additional interactive speed signs
The clerk provided a new quotation from Westcotec, the company who provide devices directly to Lincolnshire CC. She also confirmed that she was waiting on confirmation of suitable dates when Councillors could meet with A Laughton on site for discussions on siting the units.
26/27 Finance
It was proposed, seconded and RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 03/2026 details below:
