MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN LEVERTON CHURCH 

                                                      HALL ON  MONDAY 18 MAY 2026

 

Present: Cllr D Durrant – Chairman

Cllrs: Mrs J Self-Shutts , Mr N White, Mr A Woodward

                                      

Also Present:    Mrs C Anderton – Clerk of the Council 

 

Public Forum

There were no members of the public present. 

 

26/41 To elect the Chairman for the 2026/27 administration period

Cllr Self-Shutts proposed, Cllr White seconded and it was RESOLVED unanimously that Cllr David Durrant continue as Chairman for the 2026/27 administration period.

 

26/42  To receive the declaration of Acceptance of Office of Chairman

The Chairman completed the Acceptance of Office form which was also signed by the clerk.

 

26/43  To Elect a Vice Chairman for the 2025/26 Administration Period

It was proposed by Cllr White and seconded by Cllr Woodward that Cllr J Self-Shutts continue in the role of Vice-Chairman which was carried unanimously.

 

26/44  Apologies

Apologies were received from Cllr Horwat, Cllr P Bedford and Cllr D Broughton, Boston Borough Council.

 

26/45 To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011

There were no declarations of interest given.

 

26/46 To receive and approve the draft notes of the Council meeting held on Monday 20 April 2026

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 20 April 2026 be approved as a record of the meeting and be signed by the Chairman.

 

26/47  Issues relating to the Playing Fields, Potholes and the Environment of the Parish

Playing Fields 

The clerk confirmed that the inspection had been completed and the report had been disseminated to all  Councillors. 

Potholes

Cllr White reported that the Highways vehicle was in the outlying parish with the road surface condition recording equipment.

Environment

The clerk confirmed that issues regarding speeding on the bends entering the village from the south side were being looked into by Lincolnshire CC. 

Cllr White provided the details of a company who could be engaged to look into cleaning the village gateways.

 

26/48 To discuss the future use of Lacey’s Pit and confirmation of the current tenancy situation

This matter has been deferred to the next meeting due to a failure to disclose a declaration of interest.

26/49 Confirmation of parish footpath cutting and to discuss options for contractor tender applications

Cllr White reported that the footpath cutting widths were not in accordance with legislation and requested that confirmation be sought of which footpaths were physically cut and not grazed.

 

26/50 Confirmation of the requirement of a Leverton Parish Council representative on the Leverton Poor’s Land Trust Charity

The clerk confirmed that there was no requirement for a Parish Council representative to attend

25/53 Date of the next Parish Council Meeting

Date of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Monday 15 June 2026. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
