MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN LEVERTON CHURCH HALL ON MONDAY 20 JULY 2026

Public Forum
There was one member of the public present to observe the meeting in the respect of the current clerk vacancy.
26/64 Apologies
Apologies were received from Cllr N White.
26/65 To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the
Localism Act 2011
Cllr Alan Woodward declared his interest in respect of item 6 - To receive an update regarding Lacey’s
Pit
26/66 To receive and approve the notes of the Council meetings held on Monday 15 June 2026
It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 15 June 2026 be approved as a record of the meeting and be signed by the Chairman.
26/67 Reports from Lincolnshire County Council/Boston Borough Council
Cllr P Bedford gave a verbal report to members and stated with the current devolution plan, the
Borough of Boston will no longer exist.
26/68 Issues relating to the Playing Fields, Potholes and the Environment of the Parish
Playing Fields
Cllr Horwat confirmed that he had looked at the inspection report and the play equipment where issues were highlighted and confirmed that there were no issues needing immediate attention. Potholes
The Chairman confirmed that further potholes had been addressed in the parish
Environment
The Chairman reported that recently there had been excessive rubbish in the lay-by which had now been cleared away and suggested that it would be prudent to monitor the rubbish around the bins moving forward.
The Chairman reported that there had been further committee resignations at the Leisure Centre and confirmed that there was a public meeting scheduled for 7pm on Wednesday 22nd July 2026 for the residents of the parish to attend to discuss the future of the Leisure Centre.
26/69 To receive an update regarding the Public Right of Way on Oldfield Lane
The clerk confirmed that she had received communication from J Stockdale, Senior Public Rights of Way Officer confirming that Lincolnshire CC had tried to contact the residents at Colinwood regarding the accessibility of the public footpath. He confirmed that all issues should be reported via FixMyStreet in future.

Members of the Council also RESOLVED for the payment of £112.27 to be made to SD Moore for repairs to the lawn mower. The invoice for this was received at the meeting.
26/71 Matters to be added to the next agenda.
There were no matters raised for the agenda.
The Chairman confirmed that he had received a resignation letter from the clerk stating she was to leave at the end of August. The clerk had informed the Chairman of this in June to enable recruitment to take place over the summer recess.
26/72 Date of the next Parish Council Meeting
An additional meeting has been scheduled for 7pm on Monday 17th August 2026 for recruitment of the replacement clerk. This will be a closed meeting to conduct interviews.
Date of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Monday 21 September 2026. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
