LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN LEVERTON VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 20 FEBRUARY 2023
Present:

Public Forum
There were no members of the public in attendance.
23/11 Apologies
Cllr Peter Bedford gave his apologies prior to the meeting.
23/12 To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011
There were no declarations received.
23/13 Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting
It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 16 January 2023 be approved as a correct record of the meeting and be signed by the Chairman.
23/14 Reports from Lincolnshire County Council/Boston Borough Council
Cllr P Skinner gave a verbal report on behalf of Boston Borough Council and Lincolnshire County Council.
23/15 Issues relating to the Playing Fields, Potholes and the Environment of the Parish
Playing Fields
Cllr Horwat confirmed that there were no issues to report other than the requirement for topsoil in front of the goals.
Potholes
It was confirmed that the potholes on the route of Boston marathon which traversed the Parish had been identified. Cllr P Skinner also confirmed that some of the reported potholes had now been addressed.
Environment
It was reported that the hedge at the junction of Sheepgate and David’s Lane was overhanging and also a hedge was encroaching onto the carriageway outside a property on Outgate. The clerk confirmed letters would be sent requesting the residents to cut their hedges.
The clerk had forwarded details of a planning application that had been received after the agenda had been published. The details were as follows:
B/23/0036 The Old Horseshoes, Sheepgate, Leverton, Boston PE22 0AR
Outline planning permission including Access & Scale with other matters reserved (Appearance, Landscaping & Layout) for later approval for the erection of 1no. detached two storey dwelling.
Members of the council discussed the application and RESOLVED unanimously to object to the application on the basis that it did not adhere to Policy 1 of the Local Plan – Spatial Strategy, for the reasons outlined below:
1. The proposed application is not a service centre for the village of Leverton
2. The proposed application does not sustain existing facilities and
3. The application does not help meet the service needs of other local communities.
23/16 Refurbishment of the Church Hall
The clerk confirmed that there was nothing further to report at the present time.
23/17 Village Gateway Signs
The village gateways had been delivered and were due to be installed in due course.
23/18 Finance
It was RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 02/2023, details below:

23/20 Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting
The next Parish Council Meeting will be held on Monday 20 March 2023 beginning at 7.00pm, at The Church Hall, Main Road A52, Leverton. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed at 7.50pm.
