MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN LEVERTON VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 17 JULY 2023

Present:

Public Forum

There were no members of the public present.

23/67   Apologies

Apologies were received from Cllr N Chandler and Cllr P Bedford.

23/68   To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011

There were no interests declared.

23/69  To receive and approve the notes of the Council meeting held on Monday 17 July 2023

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 17 July 2023 be approved as a record of the meeting and be signed by the Chairman.

23/70   Reports from Lincolnshire County Council/Boston Borough Council

There were no reports received.

23/71    Issues relating to the Playing Fields, Potholes and the Environment of the Parish Playing Fields

Cllr Horwat suggested that following on from the inspection report it would be prudent to remove the rotting wooden assault course. Members discussed and RESOLVED to remove these items in the winter and to also move the annual inspection to be completed in the Spring. The clerk confirmed she would obtain a quotation for replacement flooring for the Wendy House and the Fire Engine.

Cllr Horwat reported that there had been an incident where children had climbed onto the roof of the container, members of the council discussed the options available to deter this behaviour and RESOLVED that Cllr Horwat purchase 2 tins of anti-climb paint and signage

Potholes

Members of the council agreed that there had been no notable repairs in the parish.

Environment 

Cllr Self-Shutts asked the clerk to remind Cllr Skinner about the overhanging hedge at Outgate which had been previously reported to him. 

23/72  Refurbishment of the Church Hall

The clerk confirmed that she was still waiting for the contractor to clear away the shrubbery around the Church Hall. As the repainting would not be completed prior to Autumn the clerk suggested that she would purchase and store the paint prior to Spring when it could be completed.  

Members of the council RESOLVED to accept the clerk’s suggestion.

23/73   Finance

a)   It was proposed and RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 09/2023 details below:

23/74 Matters for discussion only or to be added to the next agenda.

Cllr Self-Shutts reported that the surface at the parking area at Leverton Pumping Station needed addressing as it was wearing away, the clerk confirmed she would pass this information onto Cllr Bedford to raise with Witham Fourth IDB.

23/75   Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting

The next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Monday 16 October 2023 beginning at 7.00pm.

There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
