MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN LEVERTON VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 19 JUNE 2023

There were no members of the public present.

23/51   Apologies

Apologies were received from Cllr Dale Broughton – Boston Borough Council

23/52   To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011

There were no interests declared.

23/53  To receive and approve the notes of the Council meeting held on Monday 22 May 2023

It was noted that Cllr Paul Skinner had not been included in the attendees however it was proposed and RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 22 May 2023 be approved with the omission as a record of the meeting and be signed by the Chairman.

23/54   Reports from Lincolnshire County Council/Boston Borough Council

Cllr P Skinner gave a verbal report on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.

23/55    Issues relating to the Playing Fields, Potholes and the Environment of the Parish

Playing Fields

Cllr Horwat confirmed that Roger Wright would chain harrow the field in the spring. 

The clerk confirmed that the annual inspection had been booked and was awaiting confirmation of the date. Cllr Horwat stated that the Wendy House may need a new floor in spring. The clerk confirmed she would obtain a quote from Kompan.

The clerk confirmed that a meeting with Mark Skipworth had been arranged for the new park gates and that there had been further discussions by the Leverton Poors Land Trust on the display board for the park.

Potholes

Clr Skinner advised the members to keep reporting potholes on FixMyStreet.

Environment 

There were no items for the environment.

23/56  Refurbishment of the Church Hall

The clerk confirmed she had arranged for the Church Hall roof to be inspected and for a quote to be obtained if necessary to make good any damage. Members of the council asked if an invite could be extended to Martin Bell of the Leverton Fire Fighters, to attend the next meeting so the topic of fund raising for the roof could be discussed. The clerk also stated that a quote would be needed to remove the shrubbery and overgrowing trees, which were close to the kitchen area, in preparation for the outside being painted.

23/57   Finance

23/58 Matters for discussion only or to be added to the next agenda.

Cllr N White confirmed that the residents with the overhanging hedge on Outgate had started to cut back the hedge. 

The clerk confirmed that she had spoken to planning enforcement regarding the additional building at The Grange who confirmed they would look into it.

Cllr Chandler raised his concerns regarding the ongoing activity at VW Breakers, Highgate. Cllr Paul Skinner stated that he would chase up on his previous request for this to be looked into.

Cllr Chandler stated that he had removed the advertising signage that had been propped up against the Leverton Village Gateway which The Three Horseshoes pub had erected. Cllr Nick White suggested that he would call in after the meeting to speak to the landlord and ask him to refrain from doing this. 

23/59   Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting

The next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Monday 17 July 2023 beginning at 7.00pm. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
