MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN LEVERTON VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 17 JULY 2023

Present:   Cllr D Durrant – Chairman

Public Forum

There were no members of the public present however PCSO Kym Rayment was in attendance to confirm changes to the policing of the area. She stated that from October 2023 Leverton would not continue to have a dedicated officer but would have officers allocated on an as and when basis.

23/60   Apologies

Apologies were received from Cllr J Self-Shutts.

23/61   To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011

There were no interests declared.

23/62  To receive and approve the notes of the Council meeting held on Monday 19 June 2023

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 19 June 2023 be approved as a record of the meeting and be signed by the Chairman.

23/63   Reports from Lincolnshire County Council/Boston Borough Council

Cllr P Skinner gave a verbal report on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.

Cllr D Broughton stated that he had received a report of an accident involving a young child on the Leverton Playing Fields whereby she had fallen into a small hole. This matter had been brought to the attention of Cllr D Horwat who had resolved the issue.

Cllr P Bedford reported that there had been further fly tipping on Ings Bank and confirmed he would report this.  

23/64    Issues relating to the Playing Fields, Potholes and the Environment of the Parish

Playing Fields

Cllr Horwat confirmed that there were no issues on the playing fields. 

The clerk confirmed that she was still awaiting confirmation of the date for the inspection.

Potholes

Cllr P Skinner advised the members to continue reporting potholes on FixMyStreet.

Environment 

Cllr N White asked if the damaged lamp post at the site of the vehicle/residence accident on the south side of the A52 had been reported. Cllr P Skinner confirmed that it had been reported in March 2023. 

It was confirmed that the advertising hoarding had been removed after Cllr N White had spoken with the manager of the Three Horseshoes pub.

23/65  Refurbishment of the Church Hall

The clerk confirmed that the Church Hall roof had been inspected and no issues had been highlighted. The clerk had also asked for 3 quotes to remove the trees and shrubbery around the kitchen area to clear an area ready for the outside of the hall to be painted, however there had only been one respondent who gave a quote of £290.00. 

Members of the council RESOLVED to accept the quote and engage the contractor to carry out the works. 

23/66   Finance

23/68   Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting

The next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Monday 18 September 2023 beginning at 7.00pm. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
