MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN LEVERTON VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 19 FEBRUARY 2024

Present:

Cllr D Durrant – Chairman
Cllr J Self-Shutts – Vice Chairman
Cllrs: Mr D Horwat, Mr N Chandler, Mr N White.

Also Present:

Mrs C Anderton – Clerk of the Council
Cllr P Bedford, Boston Borough Council 
Cllr P Skinner, Lincolnshire County Council (arrived at 7.20pm)

Public Forum

There were no members of the public present.

24/09   Apologies

Apologies were received from Mrs F Osborne and Cllr D Broughton.

24/10   To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011

There were no declarations of interest given.

24/11  To receive and approve the notes of the Council meeting held on Monday 15 January 2024

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 15 January 2024 be approved as a record of the meeting and be signed by the Chairman.

24/12   Reports from Lincolnshire County Council/Boston Borough Council

Cllr P Bedford gave a verbal report regarding Boston Borough Council updates.

Cllr D Broughton provided a written report which was forwarded to Members of the Council.

24/13   Issues relating to the Playing Fields, Potholes and the Environment of the Parish

Playing Fields

Cllr Horwat confirmed that the walnut tree had been planted and had taken well. Cllr Horwat also confirmed that the replacement floors had been installed on the fire truck and the Wendy house.

Potholes

Members of the council agreed that due to the volume of rain, they understood that it had not been possible for Lincolnshire Highways department to address the numerous potholes in the parish. 

Environment 

Cllr Self-Shutts asked if the clerk could contact Lincolnshire Highways to see if the footpath at the side of Mrs Hall’s bungalow on Outgate could be widened. The clerk confirmed she would contact Lincolnshire Highways Department and request if this was possible.

Cllr Self-Shutts stated that she had received a complaint from a member of the parish regarding the containers which were still being used as boundary fencing at VW Breakers and requested the clerk chase this up with Lincolnshire County Council Planning Department. The clerk confirmed she would again highlight the breach of the planning decision.

Cllr White highlighted an additional residential building had been built at the Grange which had not been included in the original application and asked if a retrospective application had been sent into the planning department. The clerk confirmed that she had not been notified but would speak to Mr Watts, the Enforcement Officer.

24/14   Finance 

It was proposed and RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 02/2024 details below:

24/16   Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting

The next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Monday 18 March 2024 beginning at 7.00pm. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
