MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF LEVERTON PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN LEVERTON VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 18 MARCH 2024
Present:
Cllr D Durrant – Chairman
Cllr J Self-Shutts – Vice Chairman
Cllrs: Mr D Horwat, Mr N Chandler, Mr N White.

Cllr P Skinner, Lincolnshire County Council
Public Forum
There were 2 members of the public in attendance.
Member 1 referred to VW Breakers refused planning application and pointed out that there were still containers surrounding the property which were in contravention of the planning refusal. Cllr P Skinner confirmed that he would raise this with the planning officer at Lincolnshire County Council.
Member 2 referred to a potential relocation of the Leverton Fire Station. He highlighted several points including the proposed sight being on a blind corner and therefore dangerous to other road users. Members of the council confirmed that once an application was made and the consultation process began, they would review it and if necessary, submit their objections or recommendations.
24/17 Apologies
Apologies were received from Mrs F Osborne and Cllr D Broughton.
24/18 To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011
There were no declarations of interest given.
24/19 To receive and approve the notes of the Council meeting held on Monday 19 February 2024
It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 15 January 2024 be approved as a record of the meeting and be signed by the Chairman.
24/20 Reports from Lincolnshire County Council/Boston Borough Council
Cllr P Bedford gave a verbal report regarding Boston Borough Council updates.
Cllr D Broughton provided a written report which was read to the members by the clerk
24/21 Issues relating to the Playing Fields, Potholes and the Environment of the Parish
Playing Fields
Cllr Horwat stated that there was nothing to report due to the inclement weather however, he confirmed that the mower had been serviced.
Potholes
It was agreed that the weather conditions were hampering any progress on clearing pothole issues.
Environment
It was reported that the drains at the layby had been causing severe flooding at the lay-by/Sheepgate entrances. The clerk confirmed that this issue had been reported on FixMyStreet.
The clerk confirmed that the refurbishment of the Church Hall was now progressing, the paint had been purchased and the firefighters were looking for a break in the weather to be able to paint the outside. The clerk confirmed she has spoken with the Church Warden to see if she could encourage additional volunteers from the local community to get involved in the project.
Cllr Chandler confirmed he was happy to carry on with the village gateway cleaning if necessary, in between the contractor cleans once a month.
24/22 Finance
It was proposed and RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 03/2024 details below:

24/24 Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting
The next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Monday 15 April 2024 beginning at 7.00pm. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
